After much checking I found that the process fell over whilst using Plug and Play to install the AMD PCnet driver which is the default for an XP created VM. My next test was to "upgrade" a Windows XP VM. Using VMware server I chose the Vista machine and a "bare-metal" install worked perfectly. This driver provides the same base functionality as the SVGA driver, and it adds Windows Aero support. ![]() I thought I'd reply to this thread as I had the same issue I am using SCCM Operating System Deployment (OSD) and testing it deploying Windows 7 Professional. On Windows guest operating systems whose operating system is Windows Vista or later, the VMware SVGA 3D (Microsoft - WDDM) driver is installed.
